Main Characters
Tobi
Team WTFLAN Rank: Founder, Manager, & Tech Guy
Internet Alias: Assassinite
Description: A character based on the author, which has gone through several incarnations in terms of drawing style, all of them before the start of this web comic. Enjoys LAN parties (he even has a room in his house full of around 20 gaming computers on a network), Bloke (the British Cola), and tabletop roleplaying games, where he usually GMs. Dislikes snotty popular people, Catherine Harris, people in positions of authority, and underpowered computers.
Alex
Team WTFLAN Rank: Co-Founder & "Lone Wolf"
Internet Alias: thegr8sephiroth88
Description: Short and easily angered, Alex is ready to go berserk if anyone offends him (he usually starts by growling, then mauls the offender when they laugh at him). This aggressiveness extends to his LAN gaming, making him a valuable asset to Team WTFLAN. Enjoys collecting melee weapons, tabletop RPGs, werewolves (in books, movies, etc.), and dismembering idiots. Dislikes idiots, Catherine Harris (she pisses off most of the main characters), and not being allowed to bring a battleaxe or a katana to school.
James
Team WTFLAN Rank: Co-Founder & Stealth-Dude
Internet Alias: jamesfirecat
Description: James is about as short as Alex, but he's not very aggressive at all, except in video games (making him a valuable LAN gaming asset, etc.). He has an aspect to his personality that can only be described as "MonkeyGuy-esque", and is usually hanging from the ceiling. He enjoys hanging from the ceiling (I already said that), swinging from the ceiling Tarzan-style, GameCube & computer gaming, and (to a lesser extent than most of the other main characters) tabletop RPGs. Dislikes ceilings with nothing to swing on or hang from, and anything that isn't fast and interesting enough to cater to his short attention span (any movie with more than five minutes of dialogue in between action scenes, for example). Still, all of this apparent insanity disguises a very far-reaching intellect.
Joe
Team WTFLAN Rank: Co-Founder & Squad Leader
Internet Alias: JStikair
Description: Joe is a charismatic guy with leadership skills, so he was a natural choice to lead the others into LAN-based battle.
At one point Joe was popular, but after he saw what his former friends had been putting the less-popular people through, he and his best friend Sam removed themselves from the "in-crowd" and befriended Tobi, and later James & Alex when they moved to Twinhook.
Sam
Team WTFLAN Rank: Co-Founder & Tactics Coordinator
Internet Alias: BookwormFragger62
Description: Sam is a calm, intelligent bookworm, making him perfect for the tactics job in Team WTFLAN. He's also very good at base defense in almost any team-based FPS game mode. Despite these skills, his computer is a few years old, and receives little use, because Sam spends his at-home free time reading. His parents are rich thanks to a lucrative career jointly writing and illustrating children's books. Said parents also host Thanksgiving dinner for the families of the other members of Team WTFLAN every year.
Ed
Team WTFLAN Rank: Recruit
Internet Alias: Mastercntrol
Description: Ed is a recent recruit to Team WTFLAN, having just met Alex when they were both forced to be in a Harry Potter play at Twinhook Academy. After the performance, Alex invited him to play some Team Deathmatch in Tobi's LAN Room. When Tobi saw that Ed was so fast in his fragging that he didn't even need to strafe, he recruited him immediately.
Ed is at least as aggressive as Alex, though he has much better self-control as far as mauling people. To quote his motto: "I take s--t from NO-ONE!"
Shirley
Team WTFLAN Rank: Recruit
Internet Alias: RocketB-tch62
Description: Shirley is the newest member of Team WTFLAN, and her ridiculously formidable rocket launcher skills greatly add to the clan's arsenal (her record distance for a direct rocket hit is a little less than halfway across Unreal Tournament 2004's ONS-RedPlanet, which is truly masterful). She's the only "girl gamer" in Twinhook, and thus doesn't have many offline female friends. As will be seen in an upcoming comic strip, she has a totally kickass gaming computer. She has a little bit of a running feud with Alex, but it never gets to the point of fighting.
Shirley enjoys first-person shooters, turn-based RPGs, tabletop RPGs (especially Vampire: the Masquerade, Dungeons & Dragons, and Big Eyes, Small Mouth), some but not all anime, and movies. She dislikes Pokemon, the second and third Matrix movies, people who wish to be called Sephiroth in public, people who call her a "rocket whore" ("'Rocket bitch' is tolerable, but 'rocket whore' crosses the f*cking line!"), and flak monkeys (which she admits is a tad hypocritical).
Supporting Characters
Principal Robert Warley
Occupation: Principal of Twinhook Academy
Relation to Main Characters: He's the principal of their school.
Description: Robert Warley was hired to replace the previous principal during the last month of school. He was amazed at the ridiculous budget Twinhook Academy was receiving, since it was a public school. Warley had originally been a teacher at a run-down Capital City high school, and he was infuriated that literally more than half of Capital County Public Schools' budget was going to this one suburban school. He went a little crazy when he first entered the staff lounge and saw a small Starbucks inside, and he vowed to make the lives of Twinhook Academy's staff and students a living heck (you're not allowed to think the word "hell" in public school).
Catherine Harris
Occupation: Manipulative Jerk
Relation to Main Characters: She pisses them off.
Description: Catherine Harris is a total jerk to the members of Team WTFLAN, and they can't figure out why. Since many of them are vindictive, they respond in kind.
